Trust and safety is so important to us, and the thousands of parents and minders that make up the Huddle community. As such, being transparent about what Huddle is (and what it is not), as well as being clear about the steps we take to build trust is also hugely important to us.
The first thing to say is that we are not a babysitting or nanny agency, but a marketplace, to giving parents the ability to view, review and make choices about the childcare options available to them.
We know that the individual needs of kids and families will determine which Helpers are the best fit. Huddle uses technology to quickly and conveniently lets parents see the options around them, but of course, ultimately the decision to use – or not use – a particular babysitter on the app is down to the Mums and Dads.
So what do we do?
Huddle understands that parents want to book the babysitters that their community know and trust. And our social validation tools in the app allow parents to tap into these networks quickly and easily via the following methods:
Parent Ratings and Reviews: When viewing a Helper’s profile on the app, a parent is able to see ratings and read the reviews left by other parents on Huddle.
Mutual Friends: When viewing a Helper’s profile on the app, a parent will be shown whether they have any mutual friends in common. e.g. mutual friends on Facebook.
In addition to these social validation tools, below are the other security measures we have in place on Huddle App.
See mutual friends you have in common
Working With Children Checks: If a Helper has a Working With Children check (or equivalent) this is only shown on their profile when it has been verified by Huddle. Police Checks and First Aid certificates are not verified, so by all means please ask your chosen Helper to bring these along or send through to you.
Facebook & SMS Verification: As part of registration, every minder must integrate their Facebook account or their Mobile phone number via an SMS verification code.
